FAQs

Can I fly if I am pregnant or have a medical condition?

Most people can enjoy the Hopper flight, but if you are pregnant, it is generally recommended to consult your doctor first, especially if you are in your third trimester. For guests with heart conditions or those who have recently undergone surgery, we advise checking with a medical professional. Our helicopters are pressurized by altitude (though we stay quite low), and the flight is very smooth, but safety is always our priority.

Is there an age limit for children, and do they get a discount?

There is no strict age limit; however, the Civil Aviation Authority requires all passengers over the age of 2 to occupy their own seat at the full adult fare. Children under the age of 2 (infants) can fly as "lap passengers" for a nominal fee or free of charge, depending on the specific aircraft's safety regulations. Please note that the noise can be loud for infants, so we provide specialized ear protection.

Am I allowed to bring a professional camera and "selfie sticks" on board?

Professional cameras and smartphones are highly encouraged to capture the view! However, for safety reasons, selfie sticks are strictly prohibited inside and around the helicopter as they can interfere with the pilot’s controls or hit the rotor blades if extended near the aircraft. We recommend using a wrist strap for your phone or camera to ensure it stays secure during the flight.

What should I wear for the flight—does it get cold up there?

The helicopter cabin is climate-controlled, so you won't feel the outside air temperature. However, we recommend wearing darker-colored clothing. Bright or light-colored shirts can cause a reflection on the inside of the plexiglass windows, which can show up in your photos and videos of the scenery. Comfortable, flat shoes are also recommended for safely boarding and disembarking the aircraft.

Can I book a "Private Flight" just for my partner and me?

The standard Hopper flight is a shared experience, meaning other passengers may be booked on the same aircraft to fill the seats. If you are looking for a more romantic or exclusive experience (such as for a proposal), you can opt to pay for the remaining seats in the helicopter to guarantee a Private Charter. Please contact the booking office directly at the V&A Waterfront (Stop 1) to arrange an exclusive flight.
